An “L-shaped” building plan was employed to emphasize a strong sense of space between neighboring buildings and to represent the two separate functions – physical therapy and orthopedics - under one roof. The client’s vision was to have a grand entry. Curving parapets and overlapping building elements give the exterior a modern look that carries through to the interior. Heightened ceilings accompanied by 16’ light coves, large expanses of glass, an aluminum clad cantilevered entry canopy, and the large decorative wood wall work together to create a dramatic feel in the main patient waiting area.
